Blue Jeans

Todays color for “Lacke in Farbe … und Bunt!” is “marineblau” (navy blue). After my choice for “marineblau” was somewhat debatable in the last round 😉 I hope this one is a better match:

“blue-jeaned” is a sand-like polish – essence describes it as “jeans sugar” – but with a difference. It is not as sparkly and rough as your usual sand polish, and still has some shine. And unlike the last sand polish from essence I tried, it dries incredibly fast. Though it does have the usual thick texture of a sand polish, application was nice and easy, and you get a perfect finish with two coats.

I didn’t use a top coat except on the accent nails (see description below), to keep the rough finish. But I do like the result on the accent nails better – with regular top coat for smoothness and matte top coat to remove the shine – as it looks more like denim to me.

For the nail art, I kept the theme of “blue jeans” and added a zipper water decal and painted the “open” part in nude.

I used a regular top coat on the accent nails to smooth the surface and make the application of the decal easier, and then added matte top coat again to match the overall look.
