The plus side on catching a cold on your vacation is that you don’t feel like doing much, other than snuggling on your couch and watching TV – and browsing nail art pictures and trying new stuff on your nails. Like this tutorial:
I love love love the result, it looks so soft and spring-y and elegant. The only – and unfortunately major – downside is cleanup. You basically flood your fingertips with polish, and while I removed (read: scratched off) the worst with my smallest dotting tool (a toothpick will work as well), I still spent more time rubbing polish off my fingers with a brush and acetone than painting them took. I think this was worse than gradients or water marbling.
I definitely will do this technique again, but next time I’ll try it with smaller drops of polish, and might even tape my nails and put some oily cream on anything that’s not masked by tape.
But still, doesn’t it look fabulous? 🙂
