This weeks color for “Lacke in Farbe … und Bunt!” by Lena and Cyw – magenta – is a color I really like a lot, but have surprisingly little polishes of. This needed to change, so I bought this pretty essie polish last week:
On their website, essie describes “jamaica me crazy” as “a spirited magenta with shimmer” and adds “drive ‘em wild with outrageous, spirited magenta shimmer polish. this juicy, exciting nail color is just the right shade for dancing the night away.”
I couldn’t have phrased it any better, it does remind me of hot summer nights, cocktails and parties. 🙂
Although it is a bit sheer, it is opaque after two coats, but I added a third on my index and ring finger for comparison. You can actually see the difference, with three coats the color comes out stronger and is a bit darker, the glitter is more pronounced and you get some extra depth. So if you have the time, I would definitely suggest to do that extra coat.
Application, drying time and clean-up was flawless – no surprise for an essie polish. 😉
p2 has a new LE in stores, and while I wasn’t interested in the polishes, I read a lot of good about the included matte top coat. I wanted to see if it fares better at stamping than its older brother, but the result is more of a “so-so”. 😉 I think it behaved a bit better, but that may simply be because it is freshly bought, and because I used the MoYou London Plates, which are etched deeper than regular plates, so you stamp a thicker coat of polish.
It is a very subtle effect, but I really like it – and it is the easiest stamping to clean up after. 😀
