Although this weeks color for “Lacke in Farbe … und Bunt!” – taupe – was my starting color for this event in round one, it is also one of the colors I struggle most with. But then I found this beauty:
I really had no idea what polish to use for this week, so I browsed the galleries of the last two rounds. I found “chinchilly” a nice match – and still available – so I bought it last week. But boy-oh-boy, how did I walk past this polish for so long?! It is such a pretty and elegant color, a mix of grey and brown with a subtle purple undertone, and that dusty and dirty look I love in a polish.
essie is the only brand that makes me ignore my “I don’t see a reason why I should pay more than five Euros for nail polish”-Rule on a regular basis, and this polish again proved why – application was flawless, it is opaque after two quickly drying coats, and stays on my nails for longer than one or two days.
Maybe it is time to change the rule to “The only reason why I should pay more than five Euros for nail polish is the name ‘essie’ on the bottle”. 😀
For the nail art I simply added some dots with another taupe – KIKO’s “taupe” from the Mirror collection – and filled the larger dots again with “chinchilly”.
Base coat: p2 hands & nails calcium gel
Main color: essie 77 chinchilly (two coats)
Dots (accent nails): KIKO Mirror 617 Taupe, essie 77 chinchilly
Top coat: Seche Vite

Chinchilly ist immer wieder schön! Den hatte ih auch auf meiner Liste für diese Runde, hab mich dann aber doch für den “dunkleren Bruder” Merino Cool entschieden. 🙂
Der ist auch wunderschön – der durfte zusammen mit Chinchilly letzte Woche mit zu mir, und ich hab echt lange überlegt, welcher der beiden die Ehre bekommt. 🙂
Ich mag “Chinchilly” auch sehr gern – und das Design ist mal wieder klasse 🙂

Der KIKO harmoniert auch echt schön mit dem Chinchilly – ich hatte zuerst etwas Angst, daß der Kontrast zu hart wird, aber es war dann eine freudige Überraschung auf den Nägeln. 😉
