Tempting Teal

Todays color for “Lacke in Farbe … und bunt!” by Lena and Cyw is another one of those tricky blue-green colors that come under so many different names. I’m not even 100% sure about the translation – I spent some long hours on Google – but I decided that the german color “petrol” is close enough to the english “teal” for me to be content with. 😉

Last fall, I spent ages searching for the perfect teal polish. I wanted a simple cream, no glitter or shimmer or anything. It should be dark, but not too dark, and it shouldn’t have too much blue but a visible green-ish tint. I didn’t find it until christmas came around and I got exactly what I had in mind as a present from a dear friend. ♥

This is so far the only Mary Kay polish I own, but I’m really impressed with the quality. With careful application, this could be an one-coater, but it’s not as thick and gloopy as most one-coaters tend to be. Drying time is ok and the brush is regular type (not rounded or wide). The only downside is removal, as it is so highly pigmented and thus tends to stick a bit to the skin.

I added some nail art foil for some extra sparkle. You can catch a glimpse on how much it shines in real life when you look at the reflections on the fingers next to it. 😀
